I've long been fascinated with China and it's been at the top of my travel list for a while. This year was the first Chinese New Year the country has been open to foreigners since closing for Covid. So when this epiphany hit us back in January we knew the only thing to do was to book flights and go.
It ended up being one of my favorite trips of recent times and I wanted to document it uniquely. This ultimately led to me developing this documentary narrative 3rd person-style vlog/short film (the name still needs some work) and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!
shot on Canon C70 and some bad $90 digital camera off amazon.

It's a really outstanding filming of you to only take narrow alleys in your lens instead of those skyscrapers and magnificent buildings in Beijing. Even you have to use small scale of the picture when you were in the taxi or the busy streets and happy people would be exposed in your masterpiece. the funniest thing is that you would rather find a undeveloped great wall than go to a well developed great wall view point. (over 21000kilometers of great wal were built in China, one third was gone gone, one third was broken and one third was preserved to today. SOME of the well preserved were developed as view points for tourists.) I really hope you will miss the days doing your mission back in China when you go back to the US seeing teenagers doing grass, "buying" stuff without paying, poo in the metro LOL🤪
You should go for 200BAM. It's Bosnian Mark, it's blue and beautifull and on it you have a Nobel prize winner, Ivo Andrić.
Well your mom sounds like she were from 1980s to me. Buy you two young people shocked me more with your narrow mind on some random guess!
I have old foreign money and for the right amount I'll see my collection
You feel like you get a consolation prize because you're white. I have to say that this is typical white thinking. I feel sorry for the education you have received.
Double standardism
They made this Method in our town but instead of it being graffiti it was one big chalk alley for people to draw on. Now people can’t do much graffiti in that historic alley way that had super old and even dead graffiti artist in it. It’s sad to see it.
Graffiti Alley in Toronto aswell
Im a coin collecter and notes but im nine lol
If i was there im tracing kaws and asking for a collab
Some graffiti is cool but when you got people doing racial slurs and stuff like that ruins peoples thought on graffiti
⛲️
They’re called Art districts and they’re popular in most major cities. Graffiti artists don’t really care tho
You should go to america
This would have been so much better with a 360 insta
Ya So Good🎉🎉😅😅😮
sooooo Australia not on your list then
Is that ellen degeneres?
Just pick up a trinket or something last longer
That street looks really cool and I think it would be cool if everywhere had a small place like that where graffiti is allowed. I completely disagree with saying graffiti should be legalised in general though.
Europe has a toy problem, lmfao! Europe = toys
I'm a videographer. The depressing "filter" used in this video is called "Color-Grading" in film production. This video accentuates Blue, Purple, and Dark Green in the "Color-Grading" process, which is a technique used in Horror films and Thrillers. The intentional "Grainy" texture and framed blurred shots create an unsettling visual presentation and camera movement, combined with a depressing soundtrack. You claimed that you had a "Positive" experience of China, but your video uses visual cues to convey the opposite to your audience. You claimed Chinese treated you with kindness, then only proceeded to show that you thought you were "kidnapped" by the taxi driver. This is disingenuous at its finest.
With all that is happening in the states, i would definitely be ok to the idea of the surveillance cameras.. why do u find it dystopian.? u think random crimes and escape of criminals scot-free outweigh the safety and security of the citizens.?
Enjoy
Ellen the Degenerat lookin ahh
❤❤❤❤❤
圣母表
Wher your Bangladesh money🇧🇩?
In here at Thai land I think there is also on near my local golf course and some days they even have graffiti competition (btw I don’t know how they compete so don’t ask me)
omg i thought this was Ellen DeGeneres for a second😂😂😂
The surveillance cameras are for your safety, so you can have freedom to walk on the streets safely anytime of the day or night, you should appreciate them. No one will check the recordings unless there is a crime.
my town has a pretty similar thing, pretty sure a lot do, not sure though
I thought it was Ellen DeGeneres in the thumbnail
Shock! First time witnessing American young adults brainwashed and close-minded to such a level, continue American fine tradition of anti-China and on toward the next generation. Kudo to you on your successfully portray China in such a gloomy and earie lenses. You two have great talent. Hope to see you fine success in horror movies industry or work for BBC (British Bowshiat Corporation).
Bro go back to skiing pls those videos where lit 😅
Ikr 😥
If you don’t really care 👇
The guy’s making moves, just scroll past then
恭喜你,成功的把中国最重要的城市首都---一个成功召开了奥运会的著名城市,拍成了一个贫民窟。
Americans saying China is unsafe?😂
I'm sure you guys are @anglohan5428. Wonder how much you get paid 🤔
I have been living in the US for ten years. It really made me laugh out hard when I watched the part that his American mom worriers about the safety in China.

I thought this was ellen degeneris
Graffiti makes everywhere look like a sh*thole. If you want to live in a dump so be it.
Is it the locals or immigrants doing most of the graffiti?
put everything aside, what is wrong with your camera ? I hope your camera has the same filter while you are ini the US.
Welcome to china ❤
I really don't like your filter, you should show a real China to your audience. I've been to Los Angeles, New York, and I think your lens is more appropriate for the homeless in America
To watch sunrise, you boarded a taxi and transited a private car to an extremely remote place in the middle of the night. You came back in 1 piece all because you were in China. Can you imagine doing this in St Louis, Memphis, or Baltimore, and without being robbed or raped?? I strongly suggest doing a clip in these American cities and let you have your honest review.
That’s such a cool idea. I wish I had somewhere to go and paint like that. I hate the fact that I can get arrested for doing art. In the UK.
